It can be removed by adding the ignore-external class to the link. ![]() In some cases, however, this icon is unwanted and interferes with other styles. Links to content outside of MDN are automatically formated to have the class external-icon added to them, which creates an icon indicating that they lead away from the site. Usually used to style links ( elements are stripped from article source code, for security reasons.)
